Simple beauty

Pared down beauty with all its bones and structure exposed. Love the rustic wood, and simple pale colours.

Black and light

Who says black is cold and dark? This house by Tamizo architects is light, warm and beautiful.

Urban Mix

I love this apartment in Copenhagen. It belongs to Oslo based interior designer Karina Holmen and was designed together with lifestyle and interiors boutique Rue VerteThe dark moody hues on the walls that compliment the original features. The combination of old vintage pieces and new designs. The quirky art choices and the use of unusual elements such as pallets. It all works together to make the flat look not only stylish, but also personal and comfortable. What's not to love?

Design hero: Pinch Design

I have been admiring of the husband and wife design duo Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon for a few years now. Founded in 2004, the first piece that caught my eye was the Twig bench. I think it is the Scandinavian side of me that so loves the simple designs and the sensitive treatment of wood. Stunning.

Monochrome living

I love the bold use of black, white and grey in this beautiful house. So simple, but oh so stylish. I so want that living-room with the striking fireplace.

Kitchen candy

I am currently working on a kitchen refurbishment for a client. The kitchen is long and narrow, and the budget is limited, but that doesn't keep me from drooling over some of the pretty amazing kitchen designs out there. Here is a small selection of kitchens large and small that I have been looking at.

Grasse window

I just finished doing a new window for Grasse. This one has butterflies all over. I tried not to make it to sugary sweet by putting it with dark, slightly Gothic accessories. The windows are really difficult to photograph when it is sunny, but I hope you get an impression of what they look like.

I've got a bit of a thing for chairs

When I think of my favorite pieces by a designer they are almost always chairs. Which is probably why one of my favorite designers of all time is the Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. That man knew how to make a beautiful chair. You have probably all seen The Seven and The Ant which are among the most selling, and most copied, chairs of all time. Many of Jacobsens designs are still in production by Fritz Hansen, and they recently started making my favorite again, the 1955 Grand Prix. I do prefer it in its original version though, in a teak finish with wooden legs. One day...

Happy Easter

Every fortnight I do the window display in this wonderful garden and interiors shop in Bath called Grasse. It is owned by the lovely Jo, and stocks some wonderful and unique products. Above are the Easter windows I did for her recently. I always do one indoor and one outdoor window. The beautiful backdrop is by Kuboaa, a Bath based wallpaper company.
