Tetbury visit: Twig Florist

Twig is a beautiful and unique florist in Tetbury. I love the rustic style of the shop and the flower arrangements. They also have a very quirky interior with painted checkered floor and random patterns on walls and ceiling. It is a true joy to see a florist with a difference.

Cole and Son Wallpaper

Cole and Son has just launched their new Autumn/Winter 2010 wallpaper collection. The 12 designs in the Frontier collection is inspired by the Far East, and are all sourced from their 300 year old archive. All are available in a selection of colours. My favorites are the Tropical Birds and Cocoa.

Real Swedish homes

Sometimes I get a bit tired at looking at glossy magazines and their impossibly perfect homes, unattainable on most peoples income. Thats when I have a brows through the web pages of Swedish estate agent Bo-lagets. Yes, I know, these homes have been staged for sale, and all the clutter of everyday life has been removed. But they are still real homes, for real people with real life TV's (have you ever seen one of those in interior magazines) and kids toys and mix and match pieces. Some are even tiny studio flats. So much more attainable.

Damson and Slate

Everything on offer at Damson and Slate is made in Wales, actively encouraging the local traditional crafts. I love the natural materials and the muted pallet. As we get closer to the colder months again, the Scandinavian in me is naturally drawn to things warm and cosy.

Story porcelain lamp

Beautiful porcelain light made by Norwegians Vibeke Skar and Ida Noemi Vidal. The porcelain has a translucent pattern depicting traditional Norwegian designs.

Grasse birthday window

Grasse just celebrated one year of trading and I marked the occasion with summer party windows.

Simple beauty

Pared down beauty with all its bones and structure exposed. Love the rustic wood, and simple pale colours.

Black and light

Who says black is cold and dark? This house by Tamizo architects is light, warm and beautiful.

Urban Mix

I love this apartment in Copenhagen. It belongs to Oslo based interior designer Karina Holmen and was designed together with lifestyle and interiors boutique Rue VerteThe dark moody hues on the walls that compliment the original features. The combination of old vintage pieces and new designs. The quirky art choices and the use of unusual elements such as pallets. It all works together to make the flat look not only stylish, but also personal and comfortable. What's not to love?

Design hero: Pinch Design

I have been admiring of the husband and wife design duo Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon for a few years now. Founded in 2004, the first piece that caught my eye was the Twig bench. I think it is the Scandinavian side of me that so loves the simple designs and the sensitive treatment of wood. Stunning.
