Tommie Wilhelmsen

Tommie Wilhelmsen is an award winning architect from my hometown of Stavanger, Norway. His buildings have beautiful and unusual curves, designed as a response to the plot and its surroundings. Each house is unique, and designed in the belief that a good house can change your life. As well as beautiful, the houses are also environmentally friendly, with 90% of the houses being self-sufficient with ground source heating. I love the repetition of the outside curves in the interior spaces.

Floral magic

Saipua is a small family run florist based in Brooklyn, and probably my favorite. They have a unique way with colours and textures that I find breathtaking. When I was planning my wedding, most of my image inspiration was their work. I love the asymmetry in the arrangements, and the use of leaves, berries, twigs and seedpods. Here are some Autumnal arrangements, enjoy.

French fairytale hotel

Now bright colours in this amount isn't usually my thing, but I absolutely love the boldness of the rooms in this French chateau just outside Paris. Designed by fashion designer Stanislassia Klein, each of the five bedrooms in the boutique hotel is inspired by a different fairytale.

Tetbury visit: Anne Fowler Antiques

Anyone who has ever been to Tetbury knows that you are spoilt for choice when it comes to antiques and vintage shops. Here is another of my favorites. Arranged over two floors, Anne Fowler Antiques has a light and relaxed feel, stocking a mix of decorative furniture, industrial lighting and modern paintings.

Tetbury visit: Amy Perry

Amy Perry Antiques defines themselves as a purveyor of decorative and off-beat antiques. They stock an eclectic mix of painted furniture, retro finds and vintage linen. Lovely little shop.

Tetbuty visit: Lorfords

Lorfords is another Tetbury favorite, a must every time I'm there. Crammed full of antiques and reclaimed pieces it is a treasure throve for interior finds and inspiration. I could walk around there for hours, constantly discovering new things.

Vitrahaus

The Vitrahaus, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, is part of the Vitra campus in Germany. The striking building has their entire home collection on show over four floors. That is a lot of design classics in one place!

Tetbury visit: Twig Florist

Twig is a beautiful and unique florist in Tetbury. I love the rustic style of the shop and the flower arrangements. They also have a very quirky interior with painted checkered floor and random patterns on walls and ceiling. It is a true joy to see a florist with a difference.

Cole and Son Wallpaper

Cole and Son has just launched their new Autumn/Winter 2010 wallpaper collection. The 12 designs in the Frontier collection is inspired by the Far East, and are all sourced from their 300 year old archive. All are available in a selection of colours. My favorites are the Tropical Birds and Cocoa.

Real Swedish homes

Sometimes I get a bit tired at looking at glossy magazines and their impossibly perfect homes, unattainable on most peoples income. Thats when I have a brows through the web pages of Swedish estate agent Bo-lagets. Yes, I know, these homes have been staged for sale, and all the clutter of everyday life has been removed. But they are still real homes, for real people with real life TV's (have you ever seen one of those in interior magazines) and kids toys and mix and match pieces. Some are even tiny studio flats. So much more attainable.
