Decorating with Christmas greens

Nothing spreads the Christmas cheer like decorating with greenery. In my house Hyacinths and Amaryllis where Christmas staples, and the smell of a real tree can't be beaten. Here are some lovely ways to use natural materials in your Christmas decorations. I love this star wreath, and the ice lanterns are just magical.

Black Christmas magic

I love it when I come across Christmas colour schemes with a difference. And you don't get much more unusual than black mixed with turquoise, coral, purple and burgundy. Now thats what I call a glamorous Christmas!

Frozen landscape

Had a wonderful walk today in the Charlcombe valley just on the outskirts of Bath. Everything was covered in a thick layer of frost with haze hanging in the air. Stunning. Hope my photos can get across some of the splendor.

Christmas at Grasse

The second round of Christmas windows for Grasse. This time I made some Deer heads as props and Jo's (thats the owner of the shop) father made the fireplace. Hope you like them, I was so thrilled with the response on the first Christmas window and my paper garlands.

Weekend warmer: Roaring fires

Oh how I wish I had a fireplace! One of the things that I love the most about going home to Norway in the winter is sitting in front of a roaring fire with a good book and a glass of wine. Heaven! Until I go home for Christmas, these lovely rooms will have to do.

Christmas reds

This year has seen a lot of white and blue decorations, but to me nothing says Christmas like traditional Scandinavian reds. A little goes a long way towards creating that festive feel.

Seasonal treats

This has been one of my favorite seasonal interiors for ages, have been holding off for the right time to share it with you all. Isn't it gorgeous? Love the amount of furs in this place, makes it all warm and cosy, and I love using seasonal treats as decorations. Not sure how safe that candle wreath is though, probably best not to try this at home. Still, it looks great.

Natural Christmas

Don't you just love the simplicity of this? Natural materials with hints of gold and blue makes for lovely, tranquil Christmas decorations.

Christmas blues

I am loving all the Christmas blues that are around this season. Very sophisticated. These gifts are so beautifully wrapped, they can easily be used as decorations. Only problem is, with wrapping this pretty, the gift inside might be a bit of a disappointment. Better just leave them in the wrapper.
