Raw edge

I loved this home the second I saw it! The muted pallet of pale blues and greens, the exposed wooden beams, the vintage pieces of furniture and the design classics, all combine to make my current dream home.

Colour mix

Lately I have been inspired by colourful interiors, and especially unusual shades and combinations. I love the red and blue contrast in the top image, and the turquoise and orange in the kids bedroom linen. I don't tend to go for colour that much in my own interiors, but that doesn't  stop me admiring these little gems.

Coral blush

It is about this time of year I really start tiring of grey and damp, and start craving colour. This beautiful light interior caught my eye when flicking through Bolig Magasinet. I love the hit of coral brights, teamed with white and natural wood.

On view

Keeping things on view and making it look stylish and interesting as supposed to looking a complete mess is a real skill. Here is a selection of images from interiors where the balance between interesting and mess has been mastered. Enjoy!

Industrial edge

This house has such a great mix of farmhouse cosiness and industrial detailing. I love the different metal lamps and pendants dotted around, especially the one over the coffee tables. It used to be a warming lamp for chicks, how fun is that?

Velvet crush

When thinking of velvet, what usually springs to mind is my grandmothers old green couch with fringed edging. Not the most glamorous of images I assure you. I have just never really been a fan. That is, until I discovered the work of Christina Lundsteen. The colour combinations are to die for and the photography on the site is beautiful. It is all oh so glamorous, I think I'v got a velvet crush.

Oiltank cabin

After a blog break, made longer than I wanted by a faulty computer, I am finally back, and excited to start the new blog year 2011! What better way to start than by blogging about something unique and innovative? This unusual cabin on the little island Skrova, way up in northern Norway, made me stop in my tracks. How cool is this? Utilising an old storage tank for oil, the owner of this cabin built a three-storied holiday home for his family. All the internal fittings are custom made and fitted by the owner as well. Such an amazing way of creating a comfortable home out of a derelict space.

Beautiful greys

I found this lovely apartment on Swedish real-estate agent Stadshem`s pages. I love the original features in this flat, the beautiful ovens, the detailed cornicing and the high ceilings. The steely grey walls enhance the period details and make this flat such a successful combination of old and new.
