It has been hot and clammy here for some time now, and the summer flowers are out in all their glory. These are from my favourite walking area that is just on our doorstep, Charlcombe Valley. I will miss it...

Just back from ten glorious days in Croatia. Beautiful food, plenty of local wine, sun, turquoise sea and friendly people. What more could one wish for? My own little summer paradise.

Dreaming of Montenegro

Its been over two years since our Honeymoon in Montenegro, but memories from there still pop into my head, especially this time of year. It was such a beautiful and unspoilt gem (Budva excluding, awful), and we had a wonderful time there. I can highly recommend it if you want a quiet holiday away from it all. Now, we took an obscene amount of photos that we bored everyone to death with once we got home so I have tried to limit my selection, here are some of my favourites from the trip.

Into the woods

Just back from Norway after a wonderful week. We went to my little sisters 'confirmation' and as any Norwegian can verify that entails the following: Beautiful national costumes, smoked and cured fish, cold sliced meats and lots, and lots of cake! We did however find time to enjoy some of the stunning scenery as well. Deep forests and high peaks. Bliss.

Spring dining

This months Nib competition is 'Party table', and for once I have gotten around to acctually participating. Since the weather has been amazing here in Bath, I thought I would try and set up a garden party table. It is the first time my beautiful 'Lilje' silver cutlery has been out of the draw since I brought it over from Norway. I think it is so pretty, but have never had an occasion to use it. We got the Sophie Conran service for our wedding and the glasses are from Habitat. Pretty, but fragile, I have already snapped a couple of stems. Hope you like my little garden party. Frozen landscape

Had a wonderful walk today in the Charlcombe valley just on the outskirts of Bath. Everything was covered in a thick layer of frost with haze hanging in the air. Stunning. Hope my photos can get across some of the splendor.
